Grounded in the $100M XPRIZE Carbon Removal Benchmark

The project was entered into the prestigious XPRIZE Carbon Removal challenge supported by the Musk Foundation. The technical focus is tackling the highest-density, short-cycle carbon emissions: organic waste decomposition.

When food waste rots anaerobically in landfills, it generates methane (CH₄). By deploying software and logistics to divert commercial organic waste to bio-methane digesters, black soldier fly larvae conversion, and high-grade compost, Atikova transforms a costly liability into carbon credits and regenerative products.

Actionable Roadmap

10 Strategic Sectors & Corporate Partnership Leads

Real target organizations in Turkey and the Mediterranean region with concrete value propositions, contact targets, and pilot proposals.

Sector 01 • Hospitality High Volume

Luxury Hotel Chains & Catering (Divan, Swissôtel, Hilton)

Large hotel buffets in Istanbul and Antalya generate high daily prep and plate waste. Luxury chains need to comply with Turkey's mandatory Sıfır Atık Belgesi (Zero Waste Certificate) and international ESG rankings.

Key Target Dept: F&B Director & Sustainability Director
Immediate Pitch: AI-assisted kitchen food audit reducing prep food loss by 22% within 60 days.
COP31 Angle: Showcase Antalya & Istanbul certified Zero-Waste resort dining.
Sector 02 • Retail Chains Scale Partner

Supermarket Groups (Migros Türk, CarrefourSA, Metro)

Migros runs the "Gıdaya Saygı" (Respect Food) program. They have thousands of branches discarding fresh produce near best-before dates.

Key Target Dept: Supply Chain & Corporate Communications / CSR
Immediate Pitch: Automated shelf-life dynamic discounting and food-bank integration to eliminate dumpster loss.
COP31 Angle: National retail food rescue case study for Turkey pavilion.
Sector 03 • Municipal Bodies Institutional

İBB / İSTAÇ A.Ş. & District Municipalities (Fatih, Kadıköy)

İSTAÇ operates Istanbul's main landfill gas power plants and composting stations (Kemerburgaz/Seymen). Fatih and Kadıköy are active in organic separation from bazaars and markets.

Key Target Dept: Çevre Koruma ve Kontrol Müdürlüğü / Zero Waste Dept.
Immediate Pitch: Street-market (Semt Pazarı) organic scrap digital intake and transport routing.
COP31 Angle: District-scale methane diversion metric dashboard.
Sector 04 • Cold Chain Logistics Infrastructure

Fleet & Perishable Logistics (Netlog Lojistik, Ekol)

Temperature-sensitive supply chains experience spoilage during warehouse transshipment and delivery delays.

Key Target Dept: Green Logistics & Fleet Optimization Managers
Immediate Pitch: Early-warning shelf-life re-routing to prevent bulk pallet rejection.
COP31 Angle: Scope 3 supply-chain carbon reduction documentation.
Sector 05 • Food Processors High Impact

Food & Beverage Conglomerates (Yıldız Holding/Ülker, Sütaş, Efes)

Huge quantities of whey, dairy residues, spent grains, and bakery off-cuts. These are dense biomass streams that can be converted to animal feed or biomethane.

Key Target Dept: Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) & Plant Operations
Immediate Pitch: Industrial by-product upcycling marketplace to monetize factory organic residue.
COP31 Angle: Circular manufacturing flagship pilot for industrial zones (OSBs).
Sector 06 • Bio-Fertilizer Carbon Sink

Composting Facilities & Agro-Inputs (Buğday Derneği, OYAK/Hektaş)

Turkey's agricultural soils face chronic humus deficiency. Diverting city organic scraps to enriched compost restores soil carbon and water retention.

Key Target Dept: R&D Agronomy & Organic Soil Conditioning Leads
Immediate Pitch: Urban organic waste feedstock pre-sorting and supply agreement for composting plants.
COP31 Angle: Soil organic carbon sequestration data aligned with XPRIZE metrics.
Sector 07 • Packaging Zero Waste

Packaging Foundations & Producers (ÇEVKO Vakfı, PAGEV)

Food packaging contamination makes plastic recycling difficult. Clean separation of organic waste from packaging allows both streams to be recovered.

Key Target Dept: Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) & Innovation Team
Immediate Pitch: Source separation methodology reducing organic contamination in post-consumer recyclables.
COP31 Angle: Closed-loop food packaging recovery demonstration.
Sector 08 • Accelerators Ecosystem

Impact Hub Istanbul & İTÜ Çekirdek CleanTech

Istanbul's dedicated innovation hubs for circular economy and green startups. They offer mentorship, office space, corporate matchmaking, and investor days.

Key Target Dept: Program Directors & Sustainability Track Mentors
Immediate Pitch: Acceptance into incubation track; formalizing enterprise pilot with tech corporate partners.
COP31 Angle: Accelerated startup cohort presentation at international pavilion.
Sector 09 • Universities Scientific Validation

Technical Universities (İTÜ ARI Teknokent, Boğaziçi İklimBU)

Academic institutions in Istanbul possess environmental engineering labs capable of testing chemical oxygen demand (COD), methane yields, and life-cycle analyses (LCA).

Key Target Dept: Environmental Engineering & Climate Change Research Centers
Immediate Pitch: Joint academic paper & technical verification of carbon removal claims under XPRIZE methodology.
COP31 Angle: Peer-reviewed scientific credibility for the national delegation.
Sector 10 • Global Bodies COP31 Focus

UNDP Turkey Accelerator Lab, WWF & Zero Waste Foundation

The Turkish Zero Waste Foundation (*Sıfır Atık Vakfı*) and UNDP Turkey run specific challenge funds for community-level resilience and circular systems.

Key Target Dept: Head of Exploration / Climate Solutions Lead
Immediate Pitch: Multi-stakeholder digital platform tracking urban food loss to support UN SDG 12.3 targets.
COP31 Angle: Featured showcase at official COP31 Climate Summit side events.

Our Vision & Commitment

From grassroots perseverance in Istanbul to international climate diplomacy

Climate change does not pause for borders, geopolitical unrest, or economic hardship. Atikova emerged from an unwavering commitment to biological conservation and circular economy technologies, developed by researchers and innovators who witnessed firsthand the environmental devastation caused by resource mismanagement and regional strife.

Operating in Istanbul—the bridge between Europe and Asia—our objective is to build practical, decentralized software solutions that turn urban waste from a toxic burden into an ecological engine. As Turkey prepares for international climate milestones including COP31, Atikova offers real, measurable landfill diversion pipelines.

"True innovation is not born in luxurious ivory towers; it is forged through resilience, science, and the unyielding refusal to accept environmental decay."
