Converting Waste Streams into
Verified Climate Action & Clean Value
Atikova bridges restaurants, food processors, retail supply chains, and municipal bodies with circular economy pipelines. Cutting organic landfill methane emissions in Turkey and building actionable partnerships toward COP31.
Grounded in the $100M XPRIZE Carbon Removal Benchmark
The project was entered into the prestigious XPRIZE Carbon Removal challenge supported by the Musk Foundation. The technical focus is tackling the highest-density, short-cycle carbon emissions: organic waste decomposition.
When food waste rots anaerobically in landfills, it generates methane (CH₄). By deploying software and logistics to divert commercial organic waste to bio-methane digesters, black soldier fly larvae conversion, and high-grade compost, Atikova transforms a costly liability into carbon credits and regenerative products.
The Atikova Core Pipeline
-
1Audit & Tracking (Atikova Platform) Capturing restaurant, supermarket, and market food waste logs in real time.
-
2Surplus Redistribution & Food Banks Edible surplus safely routed before expiry in coordination with food bank networks.
-
3Biological Valorization & Upcycling Inedible food scraps routed to anaerobic digestion (biogas) or agricultural composting.
-
4Carbon & ESG Certification for COP31 Verified avoided emissions data provided directly to corporate sustainability reports.
10 Strategic Sectors & Corporate Partnership Leads
Real target organizations in Turkey and the Mediterranean region with concrete value propositions, contact targets, and pilot proposals.
Luxury Hotel Chains & Catering (Divan, Swissôtel, Hilton)
Large hotel buffets in Istanbul and Antalya generate high daily prep and plate waste. Luxury chains need to comply with Turkey's mandatory Sıfır Atık Belgesi (Zero Waste Certificate) and international ESG rankings.
Supermarket Groups (Migros Türk, CarrefourSA, Metro)
Migros runs the "Gıdaya Saygı" (Respect Food) program. They have thousands of branches discarding fresh produce near best-before dates.
İBB / İSTAÇ A.Ş. & District Municipalities (Fatih, Kadıköy)
İSTAÇ operates Istanbul's main landfill gas power plants and composting stations (Kemerburgaz/Seymen). Fatih and Kadıköy are active in organic separation from bazaars and markets.
Fleet & Perishable Logistics (Netlog Lojistik, Ekol)
Temperature-sensitive supply chains experience spoilage during warehouse transshipment and delivery delays.
Food & Beverage Conglomerates (Yıldız Holding/Ülker, Sütaş, Efes)
Huge quantities of whey, dairy residues, spent grains, and bakery off-cuts. These are dense biomass streams that can be converted to animal feed or biomethane.
Composting Facilities & Agro-Inputs (Buğday Derneği, OYAK/Hektaş)
Turkey's agricultural soils face chronic humus deficiency. Diverting city organic scraps to enriched compost restores soil carbon and water retention.
Packaging Foundations & Producers (ÇEVKO Vakfı, PAGEV)
Food packaging contamination makes plastic recycling difficult. Clean separation of organic waste from packaging allows both streams to be recovered.
Impact Hub Istanbul & İTÜ Çekirdek CleanTech
Istanbul's dedicated innovation hubs for circular economy and green startups. They offer mentorship, office space, corporate matchmaking, and investor days.
Technical Universities (İTÜ ARI Teknokent, Boğaziçi İklimBU)
Academic institutions in Istanbul possess environmental engineering labs capable of testing chemical oxygen demand (COD), methane yields, and life-cycle analyses (LCA).
UNDP Turkey Accelerator Lab, WWF & Zero Waste Foundation
The Turkish Zero Waste Foundation (*Sıfır Atık Vakfı*) and UNDP Turkey run specific challenge funds for community-level resilience and circular systems.

Our Vision & Commitment
From grassroots perseverance in Istanbul to international climate diplomacy
Climate change does not pause for borders, geopolitical unrest, or economic hardship. Atikova emerged from an unwavering commitment to biological conservation and circular economy technologies, developed by researchers and innovators who witnessed firsthand the environmental devastation caused by resource mismanagement and regional strife.
Operating in Istanbul—the bridge between Europe and Asia—our objective is to build practical, decentralized software solutions that turn urban waste from a toxic burden into an ecological engine. As Turkey prepares for international climate milestones including COP31, Atikova offers real, measurable landfill diversion pipelines.
"True innovation is not born in luxurious ivory towers; it is forged through resilience, science, and the unyielding refusal to accept environmental decay."
